New loan signing determined to make an impression

Brennan Dickenson says he is relishing an opportunity to help Wimbledon’s survival push after the forward made an instant impression on Saturday.

Thrust straight into the action at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday after just one training session with his new team-mates, Brennan provided a useful outlet on the left wing of Wimbledon’s attack.

And the 19-year-old, on loan from Brighton, has no qualms about joining a club near the bottom of League 2 after gaining experience in the division with Chesterfield earlier this season.

place. I was told that Wimbledon were interested in me and it all happened very quickly on Thursday. I agreed to come so that I can get more first-team games.stSpeaking to Rob Cornell on Dons Player, Brennan said: “I knew when I came here that Wimbledon were bottom of the table, but you cannot think about that too much,” he said. “I have come here to do my best and to get three points on Saturday was a good start as it moved us up to 21

I got on well with all the lads at my first training session with Wimbledon and you could see on Saturday that everyone is pulling together. I was on loan at Chesterfield from November until January so I have experience of playing in League 2 and hopefully coming here will help me to progress more as a player. There are good players here so hopefully that will help me too.”

The Dons entertain Plymouth tomorrow aiming to extend their unbeaten run to four games and Brennan says he is determined to prove just why Neal Ardley brought him to Wimbledon.

“Neal has spoken to me about what he wants from me and that is for me to be positive, go forward and take players on,” Brennan added. “Hopefully, during the month I am here we can win more games. It was a great result on Saturday and all the boys were buzzing after the game. If we can work hard and show the same attitude on Tuesday, then hopefully we can push on and get another good result.”
