Dedicated volunteers help to get Vale match on

The race against time to get tomorrow’s Port Vale match on has now started with a dedicated team of volunteers clearing the pitch of snow.

Around 20 volunteers started the clear-up at 9.00 am this morning and the Sky Sports cameras are currently at the Cherry Red Records Stadium filming our efforts to get the match on.

As you can see from the picture above, the team of supporters have already cleared a significant area of snow from in front of the Tempest End.Mark Robinson’s Under-18s squad will also be helping to clear the pitch and areas surrounding the stadium later this afternoon.

It is not too late for supporters to turn up at the club today and help out if you have a spare hour or two later on. Though the club does have some tools, if volunteers can bring wheelbarrows or shovels then that will be appreciated.

The club is providing refreshments and food, including soup, for volunteers.
