Striker could get all-clear by Thursday
Paul McCallum’s injury is not as bad as first feared and the striker could be back in full training later this week.
The 19-year-old, who is on loan from West Ham, left the Cherry Red Records Stadium on crutches after suffering a foot injury during the 2-2 draw against Port Vale.
McCallum (pictured receiving congratulations from Stacy Long after his second goal against Wycombe) was sent for an X-ray to assess the extent of the damage, but thankfully there is no fracture of his foot.
Wimbledon club physio, Mike Rayner, said: “The X-ray confirmed there was no fracture. Paul was very sore afterwards and that is always a worry, but hopefully managing the injury well early on has lessened his time out. I have spoken to West Ham and they are hopeful that he will back in training come Thursday or Friday.”
McCallum has scored four goals in six games since joining the Dons at the end of November and his loan deal with Wimbledon runs until 23 February.
