Victory at Petts Wood helps the Under-10s to more glory
AFC Wimbledon Girls Under-10s capped a superb summer of success by winning a third tournament during the close season at Petts Wood recently.
Managed by Debbie Francis, the young Dons finished top of the pile in a competitive 14-team tournament which included Crystal Palace and Sutton United.
Wimbledon won their group by getting the better of hosts Petts Wood and Sutton United, before knocking out Anchorians and Palace to reach the final. That resulted in a tense re-match against Sutton in the final and the Dons girls held their collective nerves to win a penalty shoot-out and make it a treble for the summer.
AFC Wimbledon Girls started their treble run by clinching the Chelsea Cup (the girls are pictured above with that trophy), before adding another cup win at Molesey and then their most recent success at Petts Wood.
Debbie Francis wishes to congratulate all the girls that contributed to all three tournament wins.
