Dons keeper greats to feature on Sunday
Wimbledon supporters can watch the club’s goalkeeping heroes of the past attempting a change of sporting codes in Sunday’s annual cricket match at Deando Ruxley CC.
Club President and former Dons goalie Dickie Guy has now signed up for a Wimbledon Legends XI that will also include 1988 hero Dave Beasant (pictured above getting his hands on the FA Cup again), Neal Ardley, Neil Cox, Terry Brown and players from the current squad.
AFC Wimbledon Club Secretary David Charles will also feature, along with Commercial Director Ivor Heller, who will be hoping for a longer stay at the crease this time after his golden duck last year!
Last year’s event was a great success and Deando Ruxley CC will offer another friendly welcome to supporters with a BBQ available and the bar open all day.
The match will start at approximately 1.00 pm on Sunday, following a game involving Deando Ruxley CC juniors.
