Dons boss will relish meeting with old club
Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley says he is excited by the challenge of putting together a competitive squad for 2013/14 with an added bonus of meeting his old club Millwall in the Capital One Cup.
Today’s first round draw handed the Dons a tough tie away at a Championship club in what will be just Wimbledon’s second competitive game of next season. It offers a chance for Neal to return to the club where he finished his playing career in 2007.
after returning from holiday, Neal said: “It is a big game, a good derby match, but it will be tough because they are obviously a very good team with a new manager. It will be a challenge, but certainly a good one. It will be fantastic for us to be playing such a match so early in the season. To play a Championship team at that stage will give us an indication of where we are as a team.Dons PlayerSpeaking to
“There are one or two players still there from when I was playing. I am really excited by it, but I am excited by the whole thing at the moment. I am really enjoying the challenge of putting together a good squad for next season.”
