Squad split for Southend and Chipstead matches
Nine AFC Wimbledon Under-18s will this afternoon miss out on their side’s fixture at Southend United after being called-up for Surrey Senior Cup quarter-final action tonight.
Youssouf Bamba, George Oakley and Greg Hayden are among the players required for the first-team in the county cup at Chipstead (7.45 pm kick-off). They will feature alongside several first-teamers including Kevin Sainte-Luce, Charlie Strutton and Curtis Osano at High Road.
With the Under-18s having a Football League Youth Alliance fixture at Southend this afternoon (2.00 pm kick-off), it will be a particularly busy day for Academy Manager Mark Robinson.
“We have our Under-18s match at Southend and then I will be making my way over to Chipstead with nine of our boys involved for the first-team squad,” Mark said. “It is great that Neal Ardley is taking our players on and giving them experience of men’s football tonight. We have rotated it around from the match at Barking last week so that Neal can take a look at some of the players who he has not seen much of yet. Our Under-18s squad will only have two substitutes at Southend, but that is a good problem to have. Tonight at Chipstead is a good opportunity for our youngsters to impress.”

The Dons have selected several first-teamers for tonight’s quarter-final tie at Ryman Division One South side Chipstead.
