Neal's update for Accrington

18 March 2013

Team news for tomorrow night's match

Neal Ardley has confirmed that Kelly Youga is likely to be handed his second Wimbledon start at Accrington tomorrow night in place of Jonathan Meades.

Youga, who can play anywhere in defence, is not required for international duty with the Central African Republic until later this week and he is ready to fill the full-back slot vacated by Meades, who is on Wales Under-21 duty.

before boarding the team coach for Accrington this afternoon, Neal Ardley said: “It was the idea to leave Kelly out on Saturday with tomorrow in mind. He did well at Southend last week, but he is a lad who has not had a lot of game time. To have thrown him into a run of Saturday, Tuesday games would have been tough on the boy so we decided to use Saturday to keep him fresh knowing that we would lose Jonathan for Accrington.Dons PlayerSpeaking to

“We had a chat with Kelly when we signed him and he told us that he had been called up for his national team. Kelly said that he would not meet up with them until the Wednesday. That was the agreement right from the start. Hopefully, Jonathan does not play too much for Wales Under-21s and we have him back in contention for Saturday.”

Wimbledon have no fresh injury concerns for the trip to Accrington Stanley and Neal Ardley had positive news to report about players on the way back from injury. Will Antwi is now back in light training after recovering from a hip injury and Curtis Osano is nearing full fitness, while Pim Balkestein is only expected to be out for another week.

We will feature more from Neal Ardley on the official website tomorrow as we build-up to Accrington Stanley.
