Volunteers needed to clean up the stadium

It’s that time of year again when the club are looking for volunteers to help spruce up the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

AFC Wimbledon’s stadium clean-up weekends are scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday, along with 6/7 July, and if you have spare time to provide your assistance – even for just an hour or two – then we would like to hear from you.

The annual work weekends have received a superb response in previous years from volunteers, who showed their excellent support once again during the course of 2012/13 (the picture above shows Mat Haylock forking the pitch to help get a game on earlier this season).

Many jobs need doing during the work weekends to ensure that the stadium is in good order when the new season kicks off, including mowing the grass in the overflow car park and cutting back bushes and undergrowth, power-washing the stands and terraces, and painting. Although most tools will be provided, if you are able to bring your own - in particular, power washers - that would be appreciated. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
