Wimbledon supporters during 2012/13
Many of your pictures of the season reflected joy and relief after Wimbledon’s dramatic final-day survival and these emotions are captured in the photographs above.
We had a fantastic response to our request for supporters to send in their favourite images of 2012/13, but not all of them involved that memorable day against Fleetwood. A photograph in the gallery above that sums up a testing campaign for Wimbledon was sent in by Dons supporter Nick Miller after Wimbledon’s 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham earlier this season. With their beloved Dons still struggling for survival, four supporters were contemplating seeking therapy at the Samaritans.
The featured image above shows three young Wimbledon supporters enjoying the match day experience at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. However, the youngest Dons supporter among our gallery is James Grist, who is pictured at his first football match when AFC Wimbledon faced a West Ham XI in a pre-season friendly, a match that was also Simon Bassey’s testimonial. The tension of Wimbledon’s match against Fleetwood is also captured by the image of John Sullivan looking towards the Tempest End because he cannot bring himself to watch Jack Midson’s decisive penalty.
We wish to thank everyone who has sent in photographs and we will be publishing more of them in the near future on the official website.
