Dons Trust aims to help the community
The Dons Trust is providing an opportunity for supporters to help those less fortunate during the festive season by collecting items for the Wimbledon Foodbank at matches.
Starting with Tuesday’s home match against Dagenham & Redbridge and continuing at our home matches throughout December, food items can be donated by supporters for this good cause.
Based in High Path, the Wimbledon Foodbank provides three-day emergency food parcels of nutritionally balanced non-perishables to those people in crisis who are referred by more than 100 charities, churches and schools from within Merton.
The charity, which opened in October 2011, provided more than 32 tonnes of food to 3747 people (including 1622 children) in the first two years. The Wimbledon Foodbank is stocked entirely from donations from local businesses, churches, schools and neighbours.
We really hope fans will consider adding one extra item to their shopping basket and bringing it down to the club.
Anyone wishing to make a contribution can do so at our home games against Dagenham & Redbridge, Mansfield, Southend and Plymouth at the Dons Trust stall.
