An update from Bars Manager Mat ahead of Dagenham
Supporters can sample a warm drink with a difference to beat the current cold snap at tomorrow’s Dagenham match as Rekorderlig Premium Winter Cider will be on offer at the bars.
With temperatures plummeting this month, we thought that now would be a good time to trial this hot cider product and this will be served in the main bar and the back bar at a cost of just £2.50. Bars Manager Mat Ansell hopes this drink will go down a treat to warm supporters up, particularly at half-time.
Mat, who joined AFC Wimbledon in the summer, is pleased to report that bar takings at the club on match days have risen significantly this season.
Bar takings from the last two home games are above the figures recorded for all of the matches last season, apart from that memorable final game of 2012/13 against Fleetwood Town.
Mat said: “It is 100 per cent down to our great supporters that this has been possible. With all profits driven back into the club, we will continue to do doing everything we can to ensure that our bars are the best place possible to grab a drink before, during, and after every game. Supporters should not hesitate to address me at forthcoming matches about any concerns, ideas or observations that they may have to improve our service.”
Despite this positive news, Mat and his team wish to apologise for the service provided at the Portsmouth match.
The club were very short-staffed on the day with seven staff informing Mat that they were unable to attend work in the 48 hours before this match. This increased waiting times at the bars and impacted on the quality of service provided.
