Preparations for FA Cup tie

7 November 2013

A behind-the-scenes look at the club

It’s been a particularly busy week at the club ahead of Friday night’s FA Cup tie and preparations for this match stepped up a gear at the Cherry Red Records Stadium today.

With the Wimbledon versus Coventry tie chosen for live coverage on BT Sport, the channel sent down its contractors Arena to make a few adjustments that are required for the broadcast. Our picture above shows workers replacing the bulbs in our floodlights to ensure that they are the correct lux for HD cameras.

Our gallery of pictures also shows an Arena lorry squeezing into the area behind the Your Golf Travel terrace. This is the lorry where a technical team will be based during the match to ensure that actions replays and other important aspects of BT Sport’s coverage are of suitable quality.

Click on the gallery above to view more photographs, which include an extra TV gantry for BT Sport, volunteers Alan Williams and Roy Bacon changing the sponsorship boards, groundsman Gabor Tanczos working on the pitch and one of the designated FA Cup balls delivered yesterday.

Advance tickets sales have been good for tomorrow’s FA Cup tie, but we wish to remind supporters that this match is NOT all-ticket and entry will be permitted on the night.

We therefore recommend booking in advance so that you will be allocated the best seats still available. Around 80 per cent of space in the EcoHouse End had now been taken, but there are still tickets left for the Your Golf Travel terrace.
