Dan Pearse strike is not enough

AFC Wimbledon Under-18s refused to go down without a fight in tonight’s FA Youth Cup tie, but a very talented Colchester United side ultimately proved too strong.

Macauley Bonne, who has scored twice for Colchester’s first-team this season after coming through the ranks, struck an early double at The Cherry Red Records Stadium and Wimbledon were eventually beaten 4-1.

Colchester captain Samuel Szmodics, who has also made the first-team breakthrough this season, struck the other goal for the visitors.
