“Harry was sitting in an X-ray operating theatre at 9.00 pm on Friday night,” said Neal. “He had been waiting there since 2.00 pm in the afternoon to have his foot looked at. Harry was due to go on Wednesday, but he thought it was going to be alright, and when he turned up for training it was not okay.
“That meant Harry had to go on Friday because the physio was not comfortable until he knew that there was no break. I therefore had to make a judgement call and I decided against starting him because he had not had the ideal preparation.”
