AFC Wimbledon bid to get their season up and running

AFC Wimbledon Ladies will have the welcome distraction of an FA Women’s Cup tie on Sunday when they entertain Worthing Town.

The Dons have had a tough start to their London & South East Regional Women’s Premier Division campaign and were defeated 4-0 by Westfield Ladies on Sunday. However, the cup sparked a big improvement from Wimbledon last season as Tony Milstead’s side reached the first round proper of the competition.

AFC Wimbledon Ladies make their bow in this season’s competition with a first round qualifying tie at Archbishop Tenison’s Sports Ground, Motspur Park, New Malden (2pm kick-off), and any Dons supporters who have not had their football fix after Saturday’s match against Burton are welcome to attend.

Regular AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Damaris Ott (pictured) had to play outfield due to a lack of players on Sunday against Westfield Ladies and two late goals from the visitors made it a harsh scoreline in the end.
