Press view on Charlie's loan

Wimbledon striker praised after Salisbury goals flurry

Charlie Sheringham has rediscovered his goal touch at Salisbury City and he’s been hailed as an “excellent loan signing” by Sports Reporter Joel Holt.

The 25-year-old’s opener at Hyde United last night made it three goals in three games for Charlie (pictured above) and his exploits have helped Salisbury move towards the Conference National play-off zone.

Joel, who is a journalist at the Salisbury Journal, has watched Charlie’s performances with interest since his loan switch from AFC Wimbledon.

“Charlie’s proved to be an excellent loan signing for Salisbury City. Coming into any club so late on in the season can make it tricky to settle in, but that hasn’t been the case with Charlie. He looked sharp on his debut and scored a dramatic penalty to rescue a point against Kidderminster for his first Salisbury goal. Since then, he’s scored in City’s back-to-back away wins.

“I’m not in a position to comment on whether he can make the grade in League Two as I’ve never seen him play at that level. But judging on his attacking capability over five games, he looks the part and could progress if he’s not hampered by injury.”
