Dan Agyei finishes clinically for the Under-18s

Hard work on the training pitch certainly paid off for AFC Wimbledon Under-18s against Luton Town last Saturday as they scored a superb team goal and this can now be viewed on our You Tube channel.

The young Dons moved the ball swiftly and decisively after Taylor Roles won possession and the move ended with Dan Agyei (pictured) finishing clinically after a lovely cross from Callum Wilson. Academy Head Coach Mark Robinson said the move encapsulated everything he’s trying to achieve with his young squad.

Mark Robinson said: “We’ve been working very hard lately on earning quick regains from the opposition with an emphasis on players recognising when to move the ball on quickly so they can hurt the opposition. If they cannot hurt our opponents, then the aim is to be comfortable on the ball and to keep possession. I thought that our goal on Saturday summed up everything that we’re trying to achieve and it showed that the boys are taking on board information. I will be looking for more of the same against Colchester United tomorrow.”

That away match tomorrow promises to be a big test for Mark’s side as Colchester can win the Football League Youth Alliance South East title with a victory and they knocked AFC Wimbledon out of the FA Youth Cup earlier this season. Look out for a match report on this game on the official website.
