Fuller fit for big kick-off

Team news for the visit of Shrewsbury

Neal Ardley has confirmed that Barry Fuller is fully fit for Wimbledon’s first match of the season at home to Shrewsbury tomorrow.

The experienced right-back (pictured) missed last Saturday’s friendly win at Aldershot with an ankle injury, but he has been back in full training this week ahead of the game.

Neal therefore has virtually a full squad to choose from with only Andy Frampton and George Oakley currently out. Young centre-back Will Nightingale has returned to full training, but he will get a run-out for the Under-21s at Reading tomorrow.

Neal Ardley said: “We have managed to keep nearly everyone fit and it’s all systems go now. We have drilled the players hard and ensured there are no grey areas going into the first game. The boys have all trained really hard and we are hoping it comes together at 3.00 pm on Saturday. Barry has trained all week and I’m absolutely delighted with that because he’s an important player for us.”

A full preview of the Shrewsbury game will follow later on the official website.
