On-loan defender in the frame for Wycombe

Wimbledon have received a boost ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup match at Wycombe Wanderers with on-loan defender Jake Goodman now eligible to play in the second round tie.

Millwall have given permission for the 21-year-old centre-back (pictured left above) to feature on Sunday and he will be in manager Neal Ardley’s squad for the game at Adams Park.

“Wycombe signed Fred (Onyedinma) on the same day as we brought in Jake and Millwall’s initial reaction was that it was fair for both players not to play in the game,” said Neal Ardley. “They’ve since looked at it and decided that the only person they would be hurting is Jake. He has probably got four or five centre-backs ahead of him at Millwall, but Fred has been in and around their first-team and he may have a chance of playing for them in future rounds. Jake can play on Sunday and it’s great to have him available for selection.”

A full update from Neal Ardley is now on Dons Player and an interview with Jake Goodman will follow later on.
