Andy Frampton will sign letter at half-time of Mansfield game

Wimbledon defender Andy Frampton will tomorrow help launch the “Write Now” campaign organised by a group of Dons fans in support of the club’s planning application for a new stadium.

The Wimbledon Park resident (pictured) will be on the pitch at half-time to sign a letter to Merton council’s planning officer in support of the launch by Bring the Dons Home, an independent group of fans working to support a Plough Lane return.

Bring The Dons Home spokesman Charlie Talbot said: “After more than 20 years we stand as a fan base on the threshold of a return to Merton. But despite all the good work carried out by the club and fans to get us to this point, we need one final push to highlight all the advantages of granting planning permission.

"Hopefully, this campaign will ensure that the council's planning officer receives hundreds, if not thousands, of letters to leave Merton in no doubt about how strong the local support for the community stadium is."
