Sight lines would be unacceptable
We are sorry to announce that it has proved impossible to install additional seating for our FA Cup tie against Liverpool on Monday 5 January.
The design of the existing stand means that any extra seating would have had unacceptable sight lines; it would not have been possible to see the first few metres of the pitch at the Your Golf Travel side of the pitch. Furthermore, even if we redesigned the existing gantry the likely needs of the TV cameras would have meant that more views would have been restricted.
We arrived at our conclusion reluctantly because the primary intention of investigating the possibility of temporary seating was to ease demand on places for the game; it would not have provided any commercial gain for the club.
Now that this decision has been made, there is no reason for terrace season ticket holders to delay their applications and we urge all ST holders to submit your applications as soon as possible. The cut off for your place to be guaranteed is noon on Friday 19 December.
For more information, fans should refer to the three articles (comprising separate guidance for seat ST holders, for terrace ST holders, and for all other priority fans) which were published on Friday 12 December.
