Young Dons at Merstham

7 December 2014

A chance to watch the development team on Monday

It will be the turn of AFC Wimbledon’s youngsters to try and earn a cup win tomorrow with the development side hosting Luton Town at Merstham (7.00 pm kick-off).

Alan Reeves’ side will be aiming for another win in the Final Third Development Cup after beating Milton Keynes in their first match in the competition.

Centre-back Will Nightingale (pictured) helped the Dons to a creditable draw at Kenilworth Road last Tuesday after returning from injury and a Wimbledon squad containing academy youngsters, U-21s and first-teamers needing game-time will be in action.

The Dons had been due to have their first “home” match at Merstham in October, but that was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and several fixtures for the development side have been rearranged due to first-team and Under-18 games.

Wimbledon’s matches at Merstham will bring back memories of Combined Counties League days, but the focus will be firmly on the future as Alan Reeves aim to progress more young players towards the first-team.

Entrance for everyone on the night will be £5.
