Dons extend Wyke's loan

Striker to stay with Wimbledon for another two months

Wimbledon have this afternoon sealed an extended loan deal for Charlie Wyke and the striker will remain at the club until 4 April.

The 21-year-old has made a favourable impression since joining Wimbledon on loan from Middlesbrough with one goal and two assists in five games so far.

Wyke built-up an instant rapport with Dons supporters by scoring on his debut in the 3-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers and he’s hoping to impress them even more during the next two months.

“I’m really happy that this has been done for another couple of months,” Wyke said shortly after signing today. “I can settle down now that I know where I’m going to be and hopefully I can push on and help the club get more points.

“I’ve not managed to score in the last few games, but the manager is happy whoever scores the goals. I feel like I have been making a contribution, but I have to keep working hard and get more goals. I am getting sharper with every game and hopefully I can help us get more wins.”

Reaction from Neal Ardley will follow soon on the official website.
