Experienced defender makes his mark
Dons defender Rhys Weston started his loan spell at Sutton United on a high by helping Paul Doswell’s men to victory at Chelmsford City on Saturday.
Weston (pictured above right) was deployed in front of a new-look back four for Sutton and played almost an hour in a 2-0 win that moved United up to third in the Conference South table.
Sutton United manager Paul Doswell said: “Rhys is a Welsh international who has played over 300 league games and we’ve got him for an initial month. We wanted some protection for the back four today, which we got for an hour.”
Former Dons captain Jamie Stuart recently left Sutton United and he has since signed for Terry Brown at Ryman Premier club Margate.
