End of winger's Dons loan spell is confirmed
Neal Ardley has confirmed George Porter's return to Championship club Burnley after a review of his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon.
The 21-year-old winger (pictured) was signed by Wimbledon last summer on a season-long loan, but it was always the plan to assess this during January.
Neal Ardley said: “There was a review period in January and George’s form had dipped a bit before Christmas. George was therefore left out of the squad when we decided to change our shape slightly. George was unhappy about not getting game-time and Burnley were looking to see if things were happening the way they wanted them to. Both clubs therefore decided it would be best for George to go back to Burnley so that they can review his situation.”
George made 24 League appearances for Wimbledon in all competitions during 2013/14 and the club wishes to thank him for his efforts in a Dons shirt.
