Sweeney injury update

4 January 2014

Neal confirms midfielder's injury

We can confirm that Peter Sweeney suffered a broken foot in training on Thursday and is facing up to eight weeks out due to the injury.

Manager Neal Ardley confirmed after today’s win at Wycombe Wanderers that Sweeney had an X-ray after the injury and has broken the same metatarsal that sidelined him last season.

“Peter could be out for six to eight weeks,” said Neal. “It’s a big blow and I really feel for Peter because he has been playing really well and he put a great delivery in for Michael Smith’s goal against Plymouth. We will have to look at that area because now we only have Sammy Moore and Harry Pell in that position.”

All at AFC Wimbledon wish Peter a speedy recovery from his injury.
