Under-18s strike six against Hayes & Yeading
Callum Overton and Dan Agyei both struck doubles to help AFC Wimbledon Under-18s to another convincing pre-season victory today.
Overton (pictured) was quick off the mark with his two goals coming before the break in a 6-1 win at Hayes & Yeading. The young Dons were 4-1 up at half-time with Agyei and Egli Kaja netting the other goals in front of Hayes first-team manager Phil Babb.
Wimbledon maintained the tempo after the interval and earned further reward with another strike from Agyei and Billy Frost completed the scoring.
Under-18s manager Mark Robinson said: “Yet again, it was a very promising performance today. The work-rate and discipline shown by our players was excellent and at times some of the football and movement was a pleasure to watch. We did not allow the opposition many clear-cut chances and we created a lot of excellent opportunities as well as the goals we scored. Despite the early promise, the boys are fully aware that it means nothing at this stage and they have to be focused on the bigger picture.”
Danny Gallagher received the man of the match award for AFC Wimbledon.
