Full-time role for Under-18s assistant coach

AFC Wimbledon’s academy has an exciting vacancy for a full-time assistant coach to work within its Professional Development Phase.

The ideal candidate for the role of Under-18s assistant coach will quickly and effectively fit in with the academy's philosophy and culture while supporting player development within coaching and the games programme.

What does the role involve?

Assisting the Lead Professional Phase Coach and Head of Coaching on all player development matters and helping players to achieve their personal learning objectives. This will include training sessions four days a week, including double sessions, and a Saturday match with a minimum 36-hour working week. Keeping up to date player performance data will be pivotal for this role. Assisting with the academy’s ‘Individual Coaching Programme’ by planning, delivering and evaluating such sessions on a daily basis will also be a key requirement of the job.

AFC Wimbledon’s academy coaches are always positive people with an enthusiastic approach to their work. The academy seeks to effectively communicate with young players and recognise their needs and requirements. Club staff are always encouraged to be open-minded and willing to learn more for their own professional development. All coaches are required to be organised, professional and diligent in all areas of their academy work.

What is required?

UEFA A Licence (preferable)

UEFA B Licence (essential)

FA Youth Award (desirable)

Valid Safeguarding Children & Emergency Aid Certificate

Driving License

IT literacy skills
