Details of extra arrangements for Chelsea game

The AFC Wimbledon club bars will once again be open for business on a match day this Saturday with a wide selection of drinks available from 12 noon.

Due to the high profile nature of the Chelsea pre-season friendly and an extraordinary increase in demand for hospitality, the back bar will only be accessible to those supporters who have booked pre-match hospitality.

However, to compensate for this, there will be an outdoor bar set-up outside the main bar for supporters.

The club wishes to thank Carlsberg for helping us with equipment to serve draught beers and soft drinks for this one-off occasion (bars will be back to normal for all other games this season).

Televisions in the bars will be showing Chelsea TV’s live coverage and build-up so if you’ve not got a ticket it will still be worth coming down for a drink.

Due to popular demand at the Meet the Manager event, our first guest ale will be Wychwood Brewery’s Hobgoblin. Following feedback from supporters that the same guest ales had too long a stay on our pumps, this will be addressed with many more beers being on shorter rotations, along with an ale which ‘pleases everyone’, such as London Pride. Please note that ales will only be available from the middle bar.

All bars will open at midday with the middle bar closing at 6. 30pm to prepare for Kingsmeadow Live’s event The Beat Goes On (Kingston’s premier over 30s night, free entry before 9pm).

The Presidents Lounge and the outside bar will remain open indefinitely.

Bars Manager Mat Ansell (pictured above) said: “The bar team are looking forward to starting the new season and serving all our great fans, who support the bars and subsequently the club on a match day. There will be lots of regular faces as well as some new additions to the bar team and they’re eager to get stuck into the wonderful atmosphere of an AFC Wimbledon home game.”
