Dons facts in the build-up to kit launch

The club’s new Admiral kits will be launched on Sunday, 29 June and we continue our countdown with a number that pays tribute to AFC Wimbledon’s hat-trick heroes.

Ray Armfield highlighted that 20 hat-tricks have been scored since 2002 with Kevin Cooper (pictured being congratulated after one of his many Dons goals) leading the charge.

20 hat-trick heroes

It’s more a case of twenty trebles than treble twenties as post-2002 Wimbledon has seen 20 hat-tricks scored in league matches. Unsurprisingly, the bulk of these came in the club’s first two Combined Counties League seasons. The names of AFC Wimbledon’s hat-trick heroes in league matches are as follows: Kevin Cooper (9), Jon Main (3), Lee Sidwell (1), Gavin Bolger (1), Paul Scott (1), Paul Barnes (1), Antony Howard (1), Robin Shroot (1), Tony Finn (1), Danny Kedwell (1).

‘Coops’ additionally scored two more in cup competitions. Rob Ursell and Kaid Mohamed also recorded memorable trebles in knockout matches and let’s not forget that Andrew Petty scored four times in a 5-1 Cherry Red Books Trophy win at Ditton during 2002/03.

.Your AFC WimbledonIn association with Admiral Sportswear Limited, supporters will be able to see the club’s new home, away and third kits, along with training wear, for the first time, on 29 June, at Centre Court Shopping Centre. To view our previous announcement about this, click on
