Academy announce new players signed up
AFC Wimbledon’s academy has been busy signing up emerging talents for the future and we’re delighted to announce new players for next season’s squads.
Rob Tuvey, Lead Foundation Phase Coach (9-12 years) and Michael Hamilton, Lead Youth Phase Coach (13-16 years) take us through those players who have earned an opportunity to shine.
Foundation Phase (Under -9s)
We would like to welcome our new intake of Under-9s for 2014/15. These boys have been with the club’s pre-academy to learn good habits in preparation for the new season. Having worked with the boys, we are extremely excited about the prospects for these boys and hope they can have a successful first season in academy football.
The boys in this squad are as follows: Ben Littlefair, Maddox Beckwith, Michael Golding, Nathan Myers-Johnson, Kai Jennings , Henry Russ , Leo Young, Tom Wilson.
Under -11s
We would like to welcome Levi Francis-Hume to the club. Levi has progressed through the club’s development centre at Kingston. Levi has shown he has fantastic qualities, especially when showing off his one-on-one attacking skills. We hope that Levi continues to impress throughout his time with AFC Wimbledon.
Under-12s
During his trial period, James has shown he is a very versatile player with a great understanding wherever he has been asked to play. We are delighted to announce that Sam Tutt and James Street have agreed to join the club for the following season. Sam is a left-sided player who brings great energy and creativity to his game. Sam has shown he is a great learner and has fitted into the squad very well so far. James joined from local league side Bedhead FC.
Rob Tuvey said: “All the boys mentioned above have received one year contracts for the next season and we feel they all have exciting futures with AFC Wimbledon. With our programme we believe they can continue to develop and improve. We wish to welcome all the boys to the club and wish them all the best in the coming season.”
