Number 10 in our kit launch countdown

The club’s new Admiral kits will be launched on Sunday, 29 June and our countdown continues by remembering a recent season when Wimbledon’s squad had a real international flavour.

Ray Armfield recalled that 2012/13 was memorable for more than just AFC Wimbledon’s Great Escape. Kevin Sainte-Luce (pictured), who was born in Guadeloupe, made a key contribution for Wimbledon’s ultimately successful relegation fight after joining in January of that season.

10 – International Dons

Season 2012/13 saw possibly the most internationally diverse Wimbledon squad ever. Apart from the majority of Terry Brown and later Neal Ardley’s squad being English, it also contained players from or qualified to represent TEN other countries. They were as follows: Jessie Darko (Austria), Kelly Youga (Central African Republic), Will Antwi (Ghana), Kevin Sainte-Luce (Guadeloupe), Pim Balkestein (Holland), Alan Bennett (Ireland), Curtis Osano (Kenya), Peter Sweeney and Neil Sullivan (Scotland), Mikhail Jiminez-Ruiz (Venezuela) and Jon Meades (Wales). In total, 45 players were used in all competitions, excluding the county cups, with the highest shirt number allocated to Chris Hussey, who wore 44.

.Your AFC WimbledonIn association with Admiral Sportswear Limited, supporters will be able to see the club’s new home, away and third kits, along with training wear, for the first time, on 29 June, at Centre Court Shopping Centre. To view our previous announcement about this, click on
