Player of the Year talks with passion about the Dons

Barry Fuller said he had no hesitation in signing for AFC Wimbledon last summer and he’s determined to help the club progress next season.

Barry, who is pictured with all of his Player of the Year awards (photograph by Zoe Linkson), said: “I still remember when I received a phone call from the manager to say that he was interested in signing me. After turning up and being shown around the club, the manager told me where he wanted to take the club and what he wanted to do for the season ahead.

“The manager told me to go away and think about it with my wife and kids. It was the first time that I had walked away from a meeting like that and wanted to sign straight away. I wanted to be a part of this club and to try and take this club forward. I don’t think I knew anyone here, but after two weeks it felt like home. I was made to feel welcome in my first season here.

if we had not lost those three points and that’s not the worst in the world. Next season hopefully we can build a stronger squad. I’m going to wear that badge with pride and I still want to play at the highest level that I can.”th “We want to be stronger, better and more consistent next season and to try and push towards those play-offs.
