A superb success for AFC Wimbledon Girls
AFC Wimbledon Girls Under-13s upset the odds in style to end the season with cup glory last weekend.
The Dons were certainly underdogs against Surrey County Girls League title winners Carshalton Athletic, but they followed in the footsteps of numerous Wimbledon teams over the years to cause a surprise.
Emily Coutinho, Abbie Morris, Sydney Henry and Rebecca Coutinho netted the goals in an excellent 4-0 win that clinched the Surrey County Women and Girls League Cup.
However, it was a fine team effort from all those girls involved in the final at Merstham FC and the winning squad are pictured with the cup above.
