Harry Pell earns praise from Grimsby boss

Harry Pell played the full 90 minutes for Grimsby last night at Braintree Town and helped the Mariners move up to second spot in the Conference National table.

Pell (pictured) joined Grimsby on a one-month loan deal last week and he’s since stepped up his match fitness by playing every minute of both games, the latter a 1-0 win in Essex for Grimsby.

Manager Paul Hurst praised Pell’s performance after his debut in the 3-0 home win against Dartford on Saturday.

“We haven’t worked too much on where he needs to be in the team, but he’s a midfield player and ultimately, whatever system we use, he knows his job,” said Hurst.

“Harry’s settled in quickly and he’s got a bit of self-belief and confidence without being over the top with it, and he wants to play games."

The midfielder is not permitted to play for Grimsby in their FA Cup tie at home to Oxford this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ross Worner and Chris Arthur are continuing to boost Woking’s Conference National play-off challenge. Worner kept his fourth clean sheet since joining the Cards in September in a 0-0 draw at Braintree Town on Saturday and Arthur also played the full 90 minutes in that match.
