Young Dons to host Burnley next month
AFC Wimbledon’s FA Youth Cup tie against Burnley will take place at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Thursday, 11 December (7.00 pm kick-off).
The third round match offers an opportunity for supporters to get behind the young Dons against a Premier League’s club’s academy. It is also the furthest that AFC Wimbledon has progressed in the competition since the rebirth of the club.
Neset Bellikli (pictured) was on target for the Under-18s in an excellent 2-1 win at Gillingham on Tuesday night and Wimbledon beat Fakenham 7-0 in the first round.
Under-18s manager Mark Robinson had his strongest squad available to choose from at Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday and Neal Ardley said that every effort will be made to ensure this is the case for such an important fixture.
“It is brilliant and FA Youth Cup runs are great for the club,” said Neal. “We are working hard to ensure that Mark has his full team out every time. We are balancing that with Under-21 games so that Mark can pick from what he wants. So far everything behind the scenes has been progressing brilliantly.”
Ticket prices for this fixture will be announced in due course.
