Dons boss positive about extending Frankie's stay

Neal Ardley is aiming to extend Frankie Sutherland’s loan spell with Wimbledon after the midfielder’s impressive performances so far.

The 20-year-old (pictured) has made five appearances for the Dons since joining on loan from QPR and he has played a key part in Wimbledon’s recent revival.

Speaking to Rob Cornell during an interview for Dons Player, Neal Ardley also said that decisions have to be made about Harry Pell and Mark Phillips with the pair out on loan at Grimsby and Aldershot respectively.

“Frankie’s loan is up on 29 November after the transfer deadline (two days earlier),” said Neal. “We’ve a tough schedule in December so I will speak to QPR and Frankie about it. He’s a player I would like to keep at the club during that spell.

“The loans of Mark Phillips and Harry Pell will be up in December and we don’t know what way they will go at this stage. If they do come back to us then that will be great because we will have real competition for places then.”

Dons Player subscribers can watch Neal Ardley’s full Thursday update ahead of tomorrow's match at Oxford United, along with an in-depth interview with Ade Azeez.
