Dons in the Final Third Development League

AFC Wimbledon return to Merstham FC on Monday night with a match against AFC Bournemouth in the Final Third Development League (7.00 pm kick-off).

Wimbledon’s ‘home’ matches at Merstham will bring back memories of Combined Counties League days, but the focus will be firmly on the future as Alan Reeves aims to nurture more youngsters for first-team action after Ben Harrison’s emergence.

Will Nightingale (pictured), who has progressed through the ranks at Wimbledon, will captain a squad a squad that will be aiming to build on an encouraging start to the season.

AFC Wimbledon’s development squad beat AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Cup earlier this season and earned a point from their first Final Third Development League fixture at Leyton Orient. However, they will be looking to get back on track after a 4-0 defeat by Charlton Athletic in the Premier League Cup.

Entrance for everyone on the night will be £5.
