Wimbledon manager bangs the drum
Neal Ardley has called for Wimbledon supporters to “get the place bouncing” and cheer on their team to victory against League 2 leaders Bury tomorrow.
Speaking during an interview with Rob Cornell for Dons Player, Neal Ardley said: “The reaction to Tuesday night was there for all to see. There were a lot of emotional people, including players and fans. At the end of a great week we have top of the table coming to our place and let’s get the place bouncing.
"I remember the Southend JPT game; the fans cheered and clapped every tackle and run, even when it never came off. They clearly supported us in everything that we did. If ever there is a time to do it then this is it. We are playing top of the league on the back of a great achievement.
“I will try and stoke the players up to the levels that the fans want. I’m looking forward to the match because there’s a buzz about the place now. Let’s make sure there’s a buzz around the stadium no matter how the game is going. We can make it happen.
“We have a tough game coming up and it’s a difficult league, but now we can spark the relationship between the players and the fans. I said to the players that we will get a good attendance and supporters will be bouncing after Tuesday. We do not want to disappoint them.”
