Details of Premier League Cup tie
A date has been agreed for AFC Wimbledon’s U-21 Premier League Cup tie at Charlton Athletic and this will take place on Tuesday, 7 October (7.00 pm kick-off).
The second qualifying round tie will be staged at Welling United’s Park View Road and it offers an opportunity for Will Nightingale (pictured) to lead the Dons into the last-32.
Dons coach Alan Reeves will be aiming to put one over on his former team-mate Jason Euell, who is in charge of Charlton Athletic’s development squad.
It will be a busy night for AFC Wimbledon as the Dons travel to Milton Keynes in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on the same Tuesday.
Of course, the Dons edged out AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday with a late winner from Nightingale. The competition is open to Premier League and Football League clubs that hold licenses to operate academies.
