Simon issues upbeat bulletin about winger
Simon Bassey today confirmed that George Francomb is expected to be back in full training later this week after missing Saturday’s defeat against Stevenage.
The JPT tie at home to Southend tomorrow night is likely to come too soon for right-winger Francomb’s return, but he should have shaken off a toe injury in time to be in Wimbledon’s squad for the trip to Carlisle on Saturday.
Simon Bassey said: “We hope that George will be back in training by Thursday. It was an injury to his toe that we thought we could manage, but Saturday was a bridge too far and it flared up when he was warming up. George has had to have an injection and he should be back in the fold in a day or two.”
