Goalkeeper joins Woking for a month
We can confirm that Ross Worner has joined Conference National side Woking on an initial one-month loan deal.
Wimbledon have an emergency call-back option to bring Worner (pictured) back if need be and Neal Ardley said the goalkeeper simply wanted to play first-team football.
Neal Ardley said: “I did not want Ross to leave, but he was desperate to go out and get games. We will get a goalkeeper back who has played matches at a competitive level if we need him.”
Worner played 47 games in all competitions for Wimbledon last season, missing just two matches, and the club wishes him a successful time at Woking. The 24-year-old is likely to make his debut at home to Chester on Saturday after an injury to Woking goalkeeper Aaron Howe.
