Dons hero soaked by former Wimbledon pair
It was Wimbledon goalkeeping hero Dickie Guy’s turn to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Saturday with a little help from John Fashanu and Wally Downes.
.You TubeVideo footage shows Dickie receiving acclaim from Dons fans at half-time of Saturday’s home match against Stevenage as he got a soaking from former Wimbledon players Fashanu and Downes, a pair who are fondly remembered for playing key roles in the Crazy Gang spirit of the 1980s. Having been nominated by ex-Wimbledon manager Dave Bassett, Dickie selected Dave’s wife Christine for the Ice Bucket Challenge, former AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper coach Paul Priddy, and his daughter Jennifer.
The Ice Bucket Challenge aims to raise awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known in the UK as Motor Neurones Disease.
