29 April 2015

Triumphant Dons target more success

AFC Wimbledon U-13s won a third successive Surrey Girls Premier League title by brushing aside Croydon Elite on Sunday – and they could clinch more silverware this weekend.

Crowned as league champions as U-11s and U-12s, the girls made it a treble in emphatic style with a 6-0 victory against Croydon and a picture of the victorious team is shown above.

Manager Fawwad Uddin and coach Thomas Bentley are hoping to engineer a double for the girls when they go for glory in the Surrey Cup Final against Crystal Palace this Sunday.

Now we will be aiming to make it a double this weekend." Fawwad said: “It is a fantastic achievement and well deserved by a very talented group of girls.

Spectators are welcome to attend the Surrey Girls Cup Finals day at South Park FC on Sunday when two Dons teams will be battling it out for success.

AFC Wimbledon U-12 Blues take on Carshalton Athletic at 1.30 pm and this is followed by the Under-13s in their double bid against Crystal Palace (3.00 pm kick-off).

The full address for the finals venue is as follows: South Park FC, Whitehall Road, South Park, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 8LG. Entrance fee is £4 for adults and £2 for Under-16s.
