Ivor's shoot-out

3 April 2015

Richard challenges Commercial Director for local charity

- the two are tied together. Penalties and Wimbledon

Club President Dickie Guy saved a Peter Lorimer penalty to deny Leeds United in the FA Cup in 1975. More recently, Jack Midson scored from the spot against Fleetwood Town to help keep the Dons in the Football League in 2013.

Then of course there’s 14 May, 1988 when Dave Beasant made history in denying John Aldridge. Not forgetting 21, May 2011 as Seb Brown thwarted Lawless and Walker of Luton, before Danny Kedwell blasted the Dons into the Football League from the spot.

Next Saturday, at half-time in the League Two game against Oxford United, there will be more even drama – but it’ll be for a good cause.

Richard has challenged Ivor to a penalty shoot-out during the break. Richard will sprint from the half way line and blast the penalty. Ivor will have to sprint from the corner flag to defend his goal! Richard hopes to raise £500 for Merton Mencap, a charity which supports adults with learning disabilities, which Richard is involved with.
