Neal: stick with us

7 August 2015

Manager's message ahead of new season

Neal Ardley has urged Wimbledon supporters to get behind his new-look team in the pursuit of success during 2015/16.

With a crop of new recruits set to make their competitive debuts against Plymouth, Neal senses the excitement among Wimbledon’s support ahead of tomorrow’s match.

Speaking to Dons Player, Neal Ardley said: “We all look forward to the week building up to the first game of the season. There are a little bit of nerves because we do not want to lose and we want to win the game. There is also excitement. Whatever happens tomorrow we will find out a little bit about where we are and what we need to work on.

“I always say that it is a two-way thing (getting the fans behind us). We have to give them things to shout about. From what I hear the fans are excited about the players we have signed and they are looking forward to watching them. I always say ‘enjoy us when we are good, but support us when we are having a tough time’. If we are under pressure and the opposition are on top of us we need our supporters to stick with us by making noise and turning it into a fortress.

“Hopefully, between us we can have the success that we want. We had a bit of success in the cups last season and we want to make sure that we get it in the league.”
