Bid for unique Dons items

Launch of Silent Auction

A great array of Wimbledon memorabilia and sporting items are featured in this year’s Silent Auction.

If you are struggling to think of gift ideas for fellow Dons supporters in time for Christmas, it may certainly be worth putting in a bid before midnight on Friday.

E-mail  pauljeater@btinternet.com  to put in a bid and include your contact number with your message.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any online bids from overseas.

Have a look in the gallery above for a look at the majority of items included in the auction.

There will be a final chance to submit bids from 12.30 pm until 2.30 pm in the middle bar before Saturday’s Stevenage game.

All funds raised will be donated to the club.

Below is a description of each item and the lots for bidding purposes with auction organisers Ray Armfield and Paul Jeater having put together a great collection.

Lot 1 – AFC Wimbledon match ball sponsorship package

A match ball sponsorship package at a mutually-convenient fixture for four people, which includes hospitality meals, match tickets, match day programmes and a post-game photograph with the Man of the Match. (Reserve £300).

Lot 2 – Signed 2015/16 AFC Wimbledon replica shirt

An ideal gift for Dons fans young and old – a brand new Admiral AFC Wimbledon shirt signed by many of the current side. Would look lovely framed and hanging on your wall!

Lot 3 – Signed 2015/16 AFC Wimbledon match ball

Another ideal present with Christmas very much in mind. A quality leather official club football signed by many of the current squad in a clear black permanent marker pen.

Lot 4 – Sports Interactive 2016 goodie bag

A mystery Sports Interactive gift pack, including a copy of Football Manager 2016. Come along and see what else it contains – we reckon you won’t be disappointed!

Lot 5 – They think it’s all over – it is now!

Next year sees the 50th anniversary of England’s epic 1966 World Cup victory – and we have a stunning giant-sized framed colour montage of hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst’s three goals – signed by the man himself.

Lot 6 – The name’s Moore, Roger Moore...

Be prepared to raise an eyebrow in the style of the famous actor when you see our copy of ‘Bond on Bond’ signed by Roger Moore. A must-have for any enthusiast of the Ian Fleming action hero genre.

Lot 7 – Ashes to Ashes

A fine framed photo of the moment when England regained the Ashes this summer. Dons supporter Mark Wood, England skipper Alastair Cook and Ian Bell have all signed this iconic quality press image of Nathan Lyon being bowled over.

Lot 8 - Bat for England!

Fully signed by the England cricket XI that took on South Africa in a One Day International in 2012, it includes Alastair Cook, Jimmy Anderson, Eoin Morgan and Ian Bell.

Lot 9 – Making cricket history

Tom (20) and Sam Curran (17) were the first brothers to take all 10 wickets in a County Championship innings since 1950, when helping Surrey defeat Northants in September. Both have signed a completed scorecard of their achievement and this is a real collector’s item.

Lot 10 – The Batsford Boys

Three colour 6 x 4 team group photographs depicting of each of the legendary sides that Allen Batsford managed to three successive Southern League titles between 1974-1977. Fully captioned on the rear of the frame to save identification arguments!

Lot 11 – Plough Lane revisited!

A lovely twin-photo of Plough Lane in all its glory, signed by the 14 former Wimbledon FC players and staff who were reunited for the launch of the Crazy Gang book. Get your bids in early for this one!

Lot 12 - Beasant and a bonus!

Always a popular and timeless item – a signed print of Dave Beasant making ‘that’ save at Wembley in 1988, framed and with the added free gift of an original WFC Club Shop commemorative sweatshirt!

Lot 13 – Sanchez celebrates

Proving you can’t have one without the other, we also have a signed print of goalscorer Lawrie Sanchez celebrating the famous Wembley win with the FA Cup – and even ‘Lurch’ and his helmet gets in on the act!

Lot 14 – Bumble – The Book

Humorous, opinionated, passionate and always worth a read. Cricket commentator, raconteur and bon viveur David Lloyd has written an autobiography – and we have a signed copy. Ideal gift for any cricket enthusiast.

Lot 15 – Michael Lynagh – Blindsided

A key member of the 1991 Australian Rugby World Cup winning side who was forced to rebuild his life in 2012 when partially-blinded and in intensive care – a signed copy of a powerful story from a fine sportsman.

Lot 16 – Jake Reeves 19

The first of four match-worn and signed shirts on offer, this is Jake Reeves’ 19 yellow away shirt from last season. Fully named, numbered and badged with Sky Bet sleeve decals, it has been signed on the back. Size S.

Lot 17 – George Francomb 7

A fully named, numbered and badged with Sky Bet sleeve decals, this white away shirt was match-worn by George and has been signed to the back of the Tempest-manufactured shirt. Size S.

Lot 18 – Luke Moore 11

“Moore, Moore, Moore, how do you like it, how do you like it?” – ‘it’ being one of Luke’s yellow Tempest-manufactured shirts from his last season with AFC Wimbledon. Size XS and signed.

Lot 19 – Alan Bennett - 39

We have the popular Irishman’s red away shirt, signed to the number on the reverse by ‘Benno’, the shirt is Size L and in excellent condition, complete with nPower sleeve decals.

Lot 20 – Wimbledon FC through the ages.

An awesome foursome of WFC team groups spanning some key moments in the Dons history - 1953, 1963, 1977 and 1988, nicely framed and would make an ideal talking point on the wall at home or in the office!
