Coach salutes striker's improvement
Alan Reeves believes that Dan Agyei has made significant improvement in his overall game after the striker starred in yesterday’s encouraging draw for the development team at Brighton.
The 17-year-old scored an excellent individual goal at Brighton and he’s struck over 30 goals for the Under-18s this season, but Alan Reeves has been more impressed with his contribution to the team in recent weeks.
“Dan is getting better with every game,” said Alan. “I did go and watch the Under-18s against Peterborough last Friday when he scored a hat-trick and that was impressive. Playing for the Under-21s is benefiting his all-round game. Dan looked head and shoulders above the rest when he was playing for the Under-18s and I think that’s down to stepping up and playing against more experienced players this season.
“Dan put his head in where it hurts today (against Brighton) and put himself about against their defenders. He really put a shift in for the team and Dan is improving all the time.”
AFC Wimbledon’s development team have now lost just once in their last eight games after the 1-1 draw.
