A message from Dickie

3 January 2015

FA Cup hero "immensely proud" of the club's achievement

Dickie Guy wishes to thank Dons fans for their support during his time in hospital.

AFC Wimbledon’s Club President is recovering after a serious operation, but he will not be out of hospital in time to attend Monday night’s FA Cup third round tie against Liverpool.

Dickie has told the club that he really appreciates all the messages of support he has received recently.

As a Wimbledon FA Cup hero from 1975 – he famously saved a penalty from Peter Lorimer to defy Leeds United – Dickie says that he’s “immensely proud” of the club’s achievement in reaching the third round this season.

Dickie says he will be there in spirit on Monday night and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.
